onwards to shomal
This is a rest stop, about half-way into the Haraz road, one of the roads going to northern Iran. The north is basically the 'cottage-country' for many Iranians. It's also by the Caspian sea, so a lot of Iranians go to the north (or Shomal, as it's called in Farsi) for weekend getaways and holidays. It's also the greenest part of Iran. We usually stop for tea here, the hung circular sheets are fruit rolls, usually made of sour cherries or plums.
